Jersey City Domestic Violence Results in Death

Domestic violence charges such as simple assault, harassment, and terroristic threats are some of the most common criminal offenses we see in New Jersey. However, sometimes domestic violence can become deadly. So far this year, four people have died in Jersey City as the result of domestic violence. The latest was a woman who was stabbed to death as the result of a domestic violence incident.

A Jersey City man turned himself in to police this morning after Patricia Santana, 53, was found stabbed to death in a home they shared in Jersey City.

On April 22, Jesus Ruiz, 73, of Sherman Avenue, was allegedly stabbed to death by his grandson, according to police say.

On May 27, Karen Lewin, 2, died as a result of blunt force injury. Her mother and a Bayonne man have been charged in the case with endangering the welfare of a child.

On June 17, Marilyn Albizu, 33, was found strangled in her home. A man who lived with Albizu, has been charged in her murder.

If you have been charged with an act of domestic violence it is important that you learn your rights and options. We offer prospective clients a free consultation with an experienced domestic violence lawyer who can address your concerns and go over the details of your charges.
